ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,629,296, issued on May 19.

"Modular rescue stretcher" was invented by Andre Plass (Wollerau, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein is a stretcher for transporting individual(s), the stretcher including two main rods, wherein each main rod is movable along a longitudinal direction between a contracted position and an extended position; and a lying structure being releasably connected to each of the two main rods."

The patent was filed on Nov. 17, 2022, under Application No. 18/711,935.
