ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,565,111, issued on March 3.
"Bidirectional split-phase power converter for electric vehicle charging" was invented by Ernest Montllo Casabayo (Montreal, Canada), Paulo Barroso (Brossard, Canada) and Reza Hesaraki (Montreal, Canada).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bidirectional battery charger capable of receiving single-phase AC power and delivering DC power to an electric power storage battery is adapted to operate with high-frequency isolation transformed on the DC side."
The patent was filed on Sept. 10, 2025, under Application No. 19/324,953.
