According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A swim training apparatus that has a body section defined along a longitudinal axis and a coupling section configured to couple the swim training apparatus to a buoy line in a first orientation and a second orientation. In the first orientation the longitudinal axis of the body section is substantially parallel with the buoy line and in the second orientation the longitudinal axis of the body section has an offset angle relative to the buoy line."
