ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,453, issued on June 30.

"Treatment of knee disorders in veterinary medicine" was invented by Slobodan Tepic (Zurich, Switzerland), Stephen Bresina (Davos, Switzerland), Douglas Beck (Westminster, Colo.) and Martin Kaufmann (Thornton, Colo.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides an external brace, an orthosis, for treating disorders of joints in dogs and cats. The most relevant veterinary indication is a hock joint brace to treat cranial cruciate disease in dogs."

The patent was filed on Nov. 24, 2021, under Application No. 18/254,655.
