According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a stoma implant assembly comprising a base having an aperture adapted to engage an outlet. The base is adapted to engage a body of a subject and the outlet comprises a bore therethrough. The outlet comprises a distal end having a connecting portion adapted to releasably secure a second connecting portion. The present stoma plant assembly alleviates some of the disadvantages associated with presently available stoma plant assemblies."
