ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,668,964, issued on June 30.
"Passive infiltration drainage system" was invented by Arik Tashie (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and John Mallard (Bahama, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A passive infiltration drainage system uses a plurality of conveyance channels and plurality of infiltration tunnels to passively transport water from land surfaces to desired storage areas. The water is either deposited into the deep soil or is passed to a storage basin or outlet point."
The patent was filed on April 10, 2024, under Application No. 18/632,186.
