ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,653,206, issued on June 16.

"Lactic acid bacterial strain with improved texturizing properties" was invented by Thomas Janzen (Hoersholm, Denmark), Ditte Ellegaard Christiansen (Hoersholm, Denmark), Jesper Broend (Hoersholm, Denmark) and Victoria Prebner (Hoersholm, Denmark).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a novel Streptococcus thermophilus strain having improved texturizing properties, compositions comprising said strain as well as fermented products manufactured using said strain."
