ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,691,344, issued on July 28.

"Padded lacrosse stick" was invented by Charles Colcorde Patterson (Nashville, Tenn.), Philip Roger Toran (Framingham, Mass.) and Anthony John Phalen (Saint-Lambert, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A padded lacrosse stick having a flexible lacrosse shaft, and wherein the lacrosse head is substantially encased or enveloped in a head padding, and wherein a shaft padding envelopes a substantial portion of the lacrosse shaft. The padding is attached to the lacrosse head and shaft."

The patent was filed on Sept. 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/467,333.
