According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A weedless lure body has a hollow elliptical cone shape, with an opening in an elliptical shape. The body further includes a first side wall and a second side wall extending downward from a top of the hollow elliptical cone. A shank of a hook is formed with grabbing barbs, which are embedded in the second side wall.
