"Hardware accelerator" was invented by Chul Lee (Los Angeles), Hui Zhang (Los Angeles), Bo Li (Beijing), Shan Xiao (Beijing), Ping Zhou (Los Angeles) and Fei Liu (Los Angeles).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Solutions are presented to reduce a number of data transfers between a host system and a storage device by utilizing a file path to identify data to be processed, thus enabling an offloading engine to independently locate the file and read corresponding data."
The patent was filed on Sept. 6, 2023, under Application No. 18/462,108.
