According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A windshield protection cushion device includes a mat that is positionable over a windshield of a vehicle. A resiliently compressible element is integrated into the mat to absorb impact energy from a projectile thereby inhibiting the windshield from being damaged by the projectile.
