ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,552,697, issued on Feb. 17.

"Method of separating waste into bio-available components" was invented by Kirk Shiner (Greeley, Colo.), Justin Spaeth (Windsor, Colo.) and Seth Peters (Windsor, Australia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Method and system of processing DAF float and other waste streams containing oils, solids and liquid in order to remove them from the waste cycle to be put back into beneficial use."

The patent was filed on Nov. 18, 2022, under Application No. 17/990,560.
