US Patent Issued on Aug. 4 for "Protecting horses and other animals from blue light" (Texas Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,699,274, issued on Aug. 4.

"Protecting horses and other animals from blue light" was invented by Beau David Whitaker (Saldo, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Masks and goggles having lens that block blue light from the eyes of animals to provide for better rest and to increase their melatonin levels are disclosed. Methods of using the blue light blocking masks and goggles to block blue light and even longer wavelengths of light are also disclosed."

The patent was filed on July 5, 2019, under Application No. 16/501,930.
