ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,594,101, issued on April 7.
"Method and device for bone fixation" was invented by Vitaly Piluiko (Las Cruces, N.M.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method and device for repairing a bone fracture include the use of a bone plate and a bone hook that engages the interior of the bone. The method includes the steps of using at least one bone hook that engages the interior of the bone to apply a counterforce to the bone plate installation forces."
The patent was filed on Sept. 1, 2024, under Application No. 18/822,237.
