"Enclosed mobility scooter" was invented by Charles Esposito (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An enclosed mobility scooter has a block-shaped base which serves as a chassis and a vehicle platform. The block shaped base extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and has two longitudinal sides and a front end and a rear end.
