ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,605,604, issued on April 21.

"Vibration damper for a bat knob and/or end cap" was invented by Thu Van Nguyen (West Hills, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A baseball or softball bat includes a barrel extending from a handle having a knob. A cap defining a chamber partially filled with gel is attached to an end of the barrel or the knob for dissipating vibrations created when the bat strikes an object."

The patent was filed on April 28, 2023, under Application No. 18/140,885.
