ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,605,378, issued on April 21.

"Small therapeutic molecules capable of inhibiting the catalytic activity of the main protease enzyme of SARS-CoV-2" was invented by Ozge Sensoy (Beykoz, Turkey), Metehan Ilter (Beykoz, Turkey) and Hanife Pekel (Beykoz, Turkey).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to molecules represented with Formula (I), Formula (II), and Formula (III) and the use of these molecules in the treatment of SARS-CoV-2."

The patent was filed on Dec. 5, 2021, under Application No. 18/255,396.
