"Collapsible chair" was invented by Mark Andrew Fraser (Brisbane, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a collapsible chair. The chair includes a backrest for engaging with a sitter's back. A seat extends from the backrest and is where the sitter can sit. A retractable leg support may extend from the seat and can be extended to support the sitter's legs with feet off the ground. Advantageously, the sitter's feet may be safely off the ground away from ants and sand."
