According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A firearm monitoring system for monitoring usage of a firearm includes a monitor module including a housing and a monitor connector for mounting the housing to the firearm. The monitor module includes various electronic components for capturing data such as video, audio, location data, orientation data, and the like.
