Former Brave Trent Harrisis set to become the secondUNC Pembroke baseball player in the last three yearsto reach the Major Leagues after his contract was
selected by the San Francisco Giants on Friday.
Harris is scheduled to join the San Francisco bullpenas the Giants host the Detroit Tigers for a three-game series.
The Raleigh native, former Richmond Squirrel and No. 24-ranked prospect in the Giants organization put together a strong summer
for the AAA Sacramento River Cats, allowing just three earned runs across 24.2 innings
in June and July, while striking out 33 and holding opponents to a .170 batting average.
