JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 20 -- The Mississippi Department of Transportation issued the following news release:
Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route during the temporary ramp closure, slow down and stay alert for warning signage and roadside crews.
WHO: The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT).
WHAT: Temporary ramp closures.
WHEN: From 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
WHERE: The north and southbound U.S. 49 ramps to I-20 westbound in Jackson.
WHY: Striping operations and lane shifts associated with the I-20/I-55 Freight Corridors Improvement Project, also known as "The Big Fix."
