NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 14 -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued the following news release:
At the request of 30th Judicial District Attorney General Steve Mulroy, TBI agents are investigating the circumstances leading to an officer-involved shooting that occurred Wednesday morning in Memphis.
Just before 9:30 a.m., members of the Memphis Safe Task Force arrived in the 2600 block of North Hollywood to serve an arrest warrant. Preliminary information indicates that upon their arrival, the subject reached for a gun in his waistband, resulting in one Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent firing his weapon, striking Darrin Pigram (DOB 02/07/1985).
