NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 17 -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued the following news release:
At the request of 32nd Judicial District Attorney General Hans Schwendimann, TBI agents are investigating the circumstances leading to an officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday in Hickman County.
Preliminary information indicates that the incident happened at around 3 p.m. in the 2100 block of Old Beaver Creek Road when deputies with the Hickman County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop. For reasons still under investigation, a struggle ensued between deputies and the man in the front passenger seat, James Heggie (DOB 1/1/1990). Multiple deputies fired their weapons striking Heggie.
