BLACKSBURG, Va., Sept. 28 -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University issued the following news release:
Virginia Tech President Tim Sands has appointed a steering committee to guide preparations for the April 16, 2027, commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the 2007 tragedy.
The steering committee includes members of victims' families, alumni, students, faculty and staff leadership, and community and government representatives.
Debbie Day '84, associate vice president for presidential priorities and Kelly McCann '07, associate director of principle gifts operations will serve as co-chairs.
