Washington, July 21 -- Congresswoman Nancy Mace issued the following press release:
Today,Samuel Theodore Cain, was sentenced for threatening to assassinate Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC). Cain was sentenced today to five years, suspended to 30 months of house arrest, followed by five years of probation, the maximum term of probation allowed under South Carolina law. A permanent restraining order to protect Rep. Mace will also be implemented as part of the sentencing.
"The fabric of our country is being torn from within," said Congresswoman Mace. "We are consumed by violent threats against the people who serve it, but nothing will stop me from fighting for South Carolina.."
