Southern Illinois University Edwardsvilleserved as a stage point for theElectrekAmerican Solar Challenge on July 27 and 28, hosting more than a dozen collegiate solar car teams from across the U.S. and abroad, including the Netherlands, Canada, and Belgium, as part of the event's 1,500-mile route along the Great River Road and historic Route 66. The SIUE Solar Racing Team competed alongside the visiting teams, marking theUniversity's return to national competition after several years.
