SHORT TERM AUGMENTEES IN SUPPORT OF NATION'S PROMISE

WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 -- Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency issued the following news release:

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii -

The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency's mission to provide the fullest possible accounting for U.S. missing personnel to their families and the nation spans 54 counties.

With a task of this scale DPAA often requires the help of personnel not assigned to the agency to complete recovery missions and in many cases fulfilling specialized roles on a recovery team.

These individuals are short term individual augmentees or STIAs, who are outsourced from all branches of the U.S. military to fill roles such as life support investigators, communication support, explosive ordinance technicians, as well as forensic ph...
