U.S. Senator Susan Collins was presented with the Justice Award from the American Bar Association (ABA). Rachel Okun of Falmouth, President of the Maine State Bar Association, presented the award, which recognizes those who make a national impact on the justice system and preserve the rule of law through judicial independence, justice system reform, or public awareness of the justice system. Senator Collins received the award for her support of the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), a publicly funded nonprofit that provides quality civil legal assistance to low-income individuals.
