JUNEAU, Alaska, Aug. 3 -- The Alaska Department of Law (Attorney General) issued the following news release:

(Anchorage, AK) - On July 22, 2026, an Anchorage jury found defendant Rhadames Marmolejos guilty of Murder in the Second Degree and Robbery in the First Degree for shooting and killing Oscar Garcia. Marmolejos was acquitted on charges of Murder in the First Degree and Kidnapping.

Mr. Garcia's body was found abandoned in the front passenger seat of a red Kia Soul parked on the 4000 block of Merrill Drive on Nov. 3, 2019. Shell casings from two firearms were found in the vehicle. An autopsy found that Mr. Garcia had suffered thirteen gunshot wounds.
