Today, Congresswoman Summer L. Lee (PA-12) joined Whitaker Borough officials to present a ceremonial check for $675,000 in federal funding she secured for the construction of a new Department of Public Works facility.
The new facility will house critical municipal vehicles and equipment and provide indoor space for borough employees to perform maintenance and repairs. By protecting equipment from weather damage and allowing more maintenance work to be completed in-house, the project will help Whitaker reduce long-term costs and strengthen essential public services, including street maintenance, snow removal, and emergency response.
