Congressman Andy Ogles introduced the Anchors Away Act, legislation to end birth tourism and clarify that automatic birthright citizenship does not extend to children born in the United States to foreign nationals who are not subject to the full jurisdiction of the United States.

The Anchors Away Act amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to clarify when a child born in the United States is considered "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States.

The bill also makes inadmissible certain pregnant nonimmigrant aliens seeking entry into the United States when their primary purpose is to obtain U.S. citizenship for a child by giving birth on American ...
