Amid continued cost-of-living concerns, Congresswoman Julia Letlow today filed legislation requiring federal agencies to disclose the impact of any new federal regulations on consumer prices.

The Consumer Price Information Act requires federal agencies to publish a statement online and in the Federal Register any time they issue a major rule. The statement must be publicly accessible and detail how the regulation would affect what consumers pay for goods and services, taking into account the regulatory impact on energy, food, housing, transportation, health care, and insurance.
