LONE TREE - Rep. Lauren Boebert announced the Department of Energy order keeps Craig Station Unit 1 available and the jobs tied to that unit continue.
"Colorado families and businesses cannot afford to lose baseload power while demand keeps climbing," Rep. Boebert said. "This order keeps Craig Unit 1 online through the end of the year so the grid has the coal generation it needs, and the jobs tied to the unit that remains open continue."
Craig Station is a coal-fired power plant in Craig, Colorado, the county seat of Moffat County in the northwest corner of the state. It sits just outside town along the Yampa River. Several hundred jobs are connected to...
