Last night, July 20, 2026, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) advanced the Fiscal Year 2027 Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA). It included an amendment led by Congressman Josh Gottheimer (NJ-5) that will require the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) to produce a National Intelligence Estimate assessing the threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran now and over the next five years.
