Over the next decade, the submarine industrial base will need an estimated 100,000 skilled workers to build the high-tech submarines our nation requires.

In an effort to address this challenge and revitalize the nation's defense and maritime industrial bases, U.S. Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Susan Collins (R-ME) have teamed up with a bipartisan, bicameral group of colleagues to introduce the Job Corps Shipbuilding-Defense Industrial Base Pipeline Act (S.4611 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/4611/titles)) to expand workforce training opportunities for American workers.
