The acquisition consists of copies ofrecords from the Tallahatchie County Courthouse in Sumner, Mississippi, whereJ.W. Milam and Roy Bryantwere triedfor the kidnapping and murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till. Till's murder and thesubsequenttrialbecame pivotal events in the Civil Rights Movement.
