WASHINGTON, July 31 -- Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration has issued a rule called: Pipeline Safety: Standards Update-ASTM A372/A372M.
The rule was published in the Federal Register on July 31 by Keith J. Coyle, Chief Counsel.
Summary: PHMSA is confirming the effective date for a DFR published in the Federal Registeron April 24, 2026. The DFR amended PHMSA's regulations at 49 CFR part 192 to incorporate by reference the updated industry standard ASTM A372/A372M, Standard Specification for Carbon and Alloy Steel Forgings for Thin-Walled Pressure Vessels (ASTM A372/A372M).
