WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Alex Padilla, a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Adam Schiff (both D-Calif.), and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, along with U.S. Representative Salud Carbajal (D-Calif.-24), led 14 of their colleagues in filing an amicus brief in California v. Wright, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, to challenge the Trump Administration's use of the Defense Production Act (DPA) to facilitate the restart of the Sable Offshore oil pipeline system along California's Central Coast.
