U.S. Senators Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) and Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), along with seven of their colleagues, introduced the Comprehensive Paid Leave for Federal Employees Act, legislation to expand federal paid leave to include 12 weeks of family and medical leave.
"California is home to 228,000 federal employees, the most of any state. They shouldn't have to choose between a paycheck and caring for themselves or their loved ones," said Senator Padilla. "Providing 12 weeks of paid leave will strengthen the federal workforce and ensure our diligent public servants get the care they deserve."
