OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY ISSUES RULE: PROCEDURES FOR TRANSPORTATION WORKPLACE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING PROGRAMS: SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROFESSIONAL AND THE RETURN-TO-DUTY PROCESS

WASHINGTON, March 4 -- Office of the Secretary has issued a rule called: Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs: Substance Abuse Professional and the Return-to-Duty Process.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on March 4 by Douglas Simon, Director, Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy Compliance.

Summary: The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is the 'gatekeeper' for the Department of Transportation's return-to-duty process (RTD).
