NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: REDUCING BARRIERS TO MEDICAL USE LICENSING

WASHINGTON, July 27 -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a proposed rule called: Reducing Barriers to Medical Use Licensing.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on July 27 by Jody Martin, Secretary of the Commission.

Summary: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to amend its regulations to reduce barriers to medical use licensing. This proposed rule responds to Executive Order 14300, "Ordering the Reform of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, " which requires the NRC to conduct a review and wholesale revision of its regulations.
