WASHINGTON, June 30 -- Sen. Kevin Cramer issued the following press release:

The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded $1,937,612 to North Dakota State University (NDSU). The funding will be distributed as follows:

* $1,360,963 (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/show-award/?AWD_ID=2613153) to study the ability of plants to tolerate and adapt to extreme heat.

* $576,649 (https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/show-award/?AWD_ID=2543272) to develop a miniature imaging system to monitor brain activity and cerebrospinal fluid movement within the skull.
