ST. MARY'S CITY, Md., Oct. 13 -- St. Mary's College of Maryland issued the following news release:
St. Mary's College of Maryland has selected artist Nicole Stewart to paint the official portrait of President Emerita Tuajuanda C. Jordan, who served as the College's president from 2014 to 2025. The portrait is scheduled to be unveiled in February 2027.
Stewart, a Maryland native, has an established connection to the Southern Maryland community and the College. In 2025, a preview of her exhibition Sharing Our Common Humanity from Common Ground, featuring portraits of descendants of Historic Sotterley, was displayed at SMCM's Boyden Gallery.
