NATIONAL OCEANIC AND ATMOSPHERIC ADMINISTRATION ISSUES RULE: FISHERIES OF THE SOUTH ATLANTIC; COMMERCIAL CLOSURE FOR BLUELINE TILEFISH IN THE SOUTH ATLANTIC

WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 -- National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has issued a rule called: Fisheries of the South Atlantic; Commercial Closure for Blueline Tilefish in the South Atlantic.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 21 by Shannon Bettridge, Acting Director, Office of Sustainable Fisheries, National Marine Fisheries Service.

Summary: NMFS implements an accountability measure for the commercial harvest of blueline tilefish in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of the South Atlantic. NMFS estimates that commercial landings of blueline tilefish will reach the commercial annual catch limit (ACL) for the 2026 fishing year.
