NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS; MODERNIZATION OF FMVSS NO. 102 TO ACCOMMODATE ADS-EQUIPPED VEHICLES

WASHINGTON, March 16 -- National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Modernization of FMVSS No. 102 To Accommodate ADS-Equipped Vehicles.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on March 16 by Jonathan Morrison, Administrator.

Summary: NHTSA is proposing to amend Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 102, "Transmission shift position sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect."
