Lamar University student Marlina Marks has been named the First-Generation Student of the Month for June 2026, recognizing her perseverance, resilience and commitment to achieving her educational goals.
Marks, a junior multidisciplinary studies major from Beaumont, is among the many first-generation students at Lamar University who are paving the way for future generations in their families.
