JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 8 -- The Mississippi Department of Health issued the following news release:
The 167th Mississippi State Fair opens today in Jackson, and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) has once again inspected all food vendors to ensure safe preparation of both hot and cold treats folks will enjoy over the next two weeks.
Inspectors from the MSDH Food Protection Division have inspected all vendors with the same criteria of restaurant inspections, looking for proper food storage, hot and cold temperature controls and clean cooking spaces.
Look for an MSDH inspection sticker wherever you buy your treats to know they've been inspected.
