UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Sept. 14 -- Pennsylvania State University issued the following news release:
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Department of Animal Science in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences has named Mike Watkins, vice president of live operations for Bell & Evans in Fredericksburg, to receive its 2026 Distinguished Poultry Science Alumnus Award.
Watkins, who earned a bachelor's degree in poultry management and technology from the college in 1990, entered the poultry industry immediately after graduation. Over more than three decades he has worked for Empire Kosher Poultry, Perdue Farms, BJE Contracting and, for the last 13 years, Bell & Evans.
