MISSOULA - A Mexican national who was in the United States after having been convicted twice for illegal reentry was sentenced today to 10 months in prison, Acting U.S. AttorneyMark Steger Smithsaid.

Rodolfo Jaime Yanez-Contreras, 43, pleaded guilty in February 2026to one count of reentry after having been removed from the United States.

U.S. District Judge Dana L. Christensen presided.

The government alleged in court documents that Yanez-Contreras was in the country illegally after having been deported from Texas five times between 2000 and 2017.
