Portland, OR - Oregon's U.S. Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden, as well as U.S. Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (OR-01) and Maxine Dexter (OR-03), announced that the Port of Portland has been awarded $7,657,874 in federal funding for Hillsboro Airport and Portland International Airport (PDX).
"Portland's airports connect our communities, businesses, and travelers to the rest of the world," said Merkley. "As Hillsboro Airport and PDX continue to grow, we must invest in critical airport improvements-such as runways, taxiways, and innovative groundwater management-to allow these hubs to keep driving our economy forward and growing local tourism."
